The Miniature American/Australian Shepherd, North American Shepherd, North American Miniature Australian Shepherd, and/or Toy Australian Shepherd breeds are not recognized as a size variety of our breed by the club or the ANKC. We consider such dogs to be distinct and separate from our breed and are in no way affiliated with such breeding practices.
Our objects and purposes state that the club's purpose is: 'To promote and encourage interest in the Australian Shepherd and pure bred dogs.' It is the mission of this club and the mission of its members to preserve the breed rather than change it.
