to present a seminar on the Australian Shepherd. Costs: NSW club members: $30 each or $50 for family. All attendees will receive a work book and a set of slides from Sheila’s presentation on CD for future reference. Her presentation has been approved by the Judges Training Scheme of the United States Australian Shepherd Association. This will really be a valuable seminar, to learn first hand about breeding practices from an Australian Shepherd Breeder and Judge who has over 40 years of experience in the breed. Sheila got her first purebred Australian Shepherd in 1963 and competed in obedience at many of the local matches. Since the Aussie was not a recognised breed until 1993 Sheila became a professional handler in the early 70’s. When the Aussie did become recognised Sheila and her late husband Jim stopped being professional handlers in 1995 so they could concentrate on showing their own dogs. Together they have over 50 champions in Australian Shepherds and Bullmastiffs. In 2000 Jim and Sheila started their AKC judging careers, both had been judging Australian Shepherds for many years. Sheila was a founding member of the United States Australian Shepherd Association, Nor Cal Herding Group and the Sierra View Club. Sheila is currently approved for five sporting breeds, one hound, seven working and the herding group (with 10 Breeds still provisional in the Herding Group). Sheila has judged in Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Brussels, France, Korea, Taiwan and this year Finland and Australia. She is also judging the Bullmastiff National this year.
